The BPS Foundation and the North Dakota Community Foundation, manages several scholarships. They are:
Bismarck Schools Scholarship Fund: established in 1986 by an anonymous donor. Given annually to one student from Bismarck High and one student from Century High School. This scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Chris Traeholt Scholarship: created as a memorial for this former Century High School student. Given annually to a CHS student.
Tom Sturdevant Scholarship: created in memory of this former Century High School track and football coach. Given annually to a CHS student.
Edgar Bollinger Scholarship: established in memory of this longtime Bismarck State College business instructor. Given annually to a BHS student.
Kathy Eggmann Scholarship: established in memory of this former Century High School student. Given annually to a CHS student.
Paulie Paul Scholarship: created in 1996 by Paulie's family and friends, this scholarship is awarded annually to a CHS student.
Guy Larson Scholarship: awarded annually to a graduating senior at BHS who participated in music in high school and plans to pursue a major or minor in music at college.
Harold Kepler Scholarship: awarded annually to assist a band student from CHS with half of the registration fee to attend the International Music Camp at the ND Peace Gardens.
Robert C. Peske Scholarship: awarded annually to a senior member of the BHS stage band.
Alton Wolfer: established in memory of this BHS teacher, this scholarship is awarded annually to a BHS student.
Jim & Barbara Blaine: created to assist CHS students whose parents are educators at CHS.
Kenneth Hendrickson Scholarship: created in 2004 to assist a BHS student who has an interest in the computer field and is a member of the military or whose parents are members of the military. This scholarship is managed by the Bismarck Public Schools Foundation.
Paul Walz Memorial Scholarship was established in 2008 to assist a BHS student who understands the value of education and has a sincere interest to learn. This scholarship is managed by the Bismarck Public Schools Foundation
The Richard & Ileane Biwer Memorial Scholarship was established in 2008 to assist a Bismarck Public School graduate to pursue their collegiate goals.
The Tayler Fladeland Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 by Tayler's relatives. The purpose of the Fund is to assist students from BHS to continue their post-secondary education. Two $1,000 scholarships will be given each year. Scholarships are given annually at the Bismarck School Board meeting in April. Applications must be made before that time.
